While there’s no shortage of family-friendly properties in Cancun, there are plenty of top-notch afhotels that offer a grown-up alternative. As a seasoned traveler who has frequently covered all-inclusives, I have visited this part of Mexico almost a dozen times. Along with my own personal stays, I tapped Ioanna Alvarez, a travel advisor at NUBA, for key insights on the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun.
My top overall pick is the new , which offers beautiful rooms, a beachfront location, high-quality dining and attentive service. I also recommend the luxurious for a high-end stay on serene Isla Mujeres, as well as for foodies seeking high-quality dining. Below, the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun for 2026.

Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun Overall: Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres
Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres
Who Will Love It: Couples; groups of friends
All-Star Amenities: 16 indoor and outdoor bars; 14 dining options; spacious all-suite accommodations; prime beachfront location; seven pools; swim-up suites
What Not To Miss: Dinner at Magna, an Excellence Club dining outlet
Location: Playa Mujeres
Distance From Airport: 19 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
While its sister property, , has topped many of our Cancun lists, this year, Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres takes the crown. The new resort opened its doors in February 2025, and it features a beautiful, sleek design. On a recent visit, I was impressed by its all-suite setup (including swim-up suites, which I stayed in) that features scenic terraces with plush day beds, along with luxe amenities like whirlpool tubs, a pillow menu, Champagne and chilled towels upon arrival. It’s hard to be bored with the property’s seven pools, access to a nearby golf course, indulgent spa and 14 high-quality dining concepts serving global cuisines. My favorite dining option was Magna, which is open to guests staying on the Club level. If you book an Excellence Club level suite, which runs about $150 extra per night, you’ll also have access to a private beach area and other perks.
Best High-End Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun: Almare Isla Mujeres
Almare, A Luxury Collection Resort, Isla Mujeres
Who Will Love It: Adults seeking a quieter, more intimate all-inclusive Cancun experience with sophisticated dining
All-Star Amenities: Byredo toiletries; Alma Spa; two pools, including a rooftop infinity pool; private beachfront; complimentary boat transfers
What Not To Miss: The authentic and elevated meals; morning yoga on the hotel’s dock
Location: Isla Mujeres
Distance To Airport: 25 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
An intimate alternative to Cancun’s traditional all-inclusive mega-resorts, the 109-room opened its doors on Isla Mujeres in November 2024. I checked into the resort earlier this year on a girls’ trip with my mom and can confirm that its serene location and high-end amenities are true standouts on the saturated Cancun hotel scene. The property features two pools, including a rooftop infinity pool, a private beachfront and the beautiful Alma Spa (treatments are available for an extra charge). Along with superb service and chic Byredo toiletries in every room, I was also impressed by the excellent, locally focused cuisine, including tikin xic, a Yucatan-style fish (usually grouper or snapper) prepared with Mayan-influenced sauces in banana leaves, as well as the wide variety of Mexican wines on each menu. Read my full review of this property here.
Best Boutique Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun: Hotel Mousai Cancun
Hotel Mousai Cancun
Who Will Love It: Design lovers; travelers seeking a smaller, more intimate property
All-Star Amenities: Three pools, including a rooftop infinity pool and a beachfront infinity pool; three restaurants; two bars; pillow menu; access to restaurants at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun and Villa del Palmar Cancun
What Not To Miss: The hotel’s many curated art pieces
Location: Costa Mujeres
Distance To Airport: 25 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
Much like its , the recently opened Hotel Mousai Cancun features artfully designed interiors, curated art displays, panoramic rooftop views and top-notch dining. With only 88 ultra-modern rooms and suites, it’s also the only truly boutique adults-only all-inclusive resort in Cancun. This makes it ideal for travelers who want a well-rounded experience without sacrificing the intimacy of a boutique hotel. While the property has three on-site restaurants, including Italian favorite Noi, one of my favorite benefits of a stay here is access to the many restaurants at the neighboring sister properties (steak lovers, try Bocados) and (order the pasta at Davino). Guests can also book treatments and a hydrotherapy circuit at Garza Blanca’s Spa Imagine.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For Couples: Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets
Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets
Who Will Love It: Couples and honeymooners; travelers seeking a smaller, more romantic stay
All-Star Amenities: Spa; Le Labo toiletries; minibar with fully stocked wine cooler and a bottle of Patrón tequila; free laundry and dry cleaning; four pools, including a rooftop infinity pool and a four-story waterslide; seven restaurants; five bars
What Not To Miss: Sunset at the rooftop infinity pool
Location: Isla Mujeres
Distance To Airport: 25 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
Located on the quieter Isla Mujeres—a ferry ride away from the mainland—and comprised of just 125 suites, Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets is another intimate property that’s a fairly recent newcomer (it opened in late 2023). After visiting Isla Mujeres earlier this year, I highly recommend its serene atmosphere for couples. This resort in particular features beautiful Mediterranean-style décor that evokes a Grecian resort, making it a great alternative to a European honeymoon. Guests arrive via private catamaran and are greeted with high-end amenities like attentive butler service and Le Labo toiletries. Seven restaurants offer high-quality meals (the Italian outlet Spezza is a particular standout), while bespoke cocktails can be sipped at the property’s rooftop infinity pool and overwater cabanas. For extra fun, adults can enjoy a four-story waterslide completely free of kids.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For Groups: Secrets The Vine Cancun
Secrets The Vine Cancun
Who Will Love It: Large groups; wine lovers
All-Star Amenities: Three infinity pools; nine restaurants; seven bars and lounges; 12,000 square-foot spa; butler service
What Not To Miss: Sweeping views of the Caribbean from higher floors
Location: Hotel Zone
Distance From Airport: 12 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
Ideal for groups, the expansive Secrets The Vine Cancun is home to nearly 500 rooms and suites, each with private balconies or terraces. Located within a high-rise building (a rarity among Cancun resorts), top floor rooms—including the gym—offer sweeping views of the Caribbean. One of my favorite details about this property is its focus on wine: Oenophiles are sure to enjoy extensive wine lists, a large wine cellar and the hotel’s daily wine tastings (for an additional $30 fee). With nine restaurants, including pan-Asian dishes at Dragons and Italian cuisine at Nebbiolo, three infinity pools and a wide range of activities like cocktail classes and Spanish lessons, groups of all sizes will find something that appeals to them here. The 12,000 square-foot Secrets Spa by Pevonia offers an impressive list of treatments, all inspired by the ocean.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For Foodies: Atelier Playa Mujeres
Atelier Playa Mujeres
Who Will Love It: Couples and friends who want a high-end getaway with great food
All-Star Amenities: 13 restaurants; 12 bars; Nuup Spa; Greg Norman-designed golf course
What Not To Miss: The daily wine and cheese at sunset
Location: Playa Mujeres
Distance From Airport: 20 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: Yes
Many all-inclusive resorts have a reputation for mediocre food, but like most options in this roundup the 593-room Atelier Playa Mujeres brings high-quality dining to Cancun. I particularly like this resort for its 13 chef-driven restaurants, ranging from Italian favorites at Cilento to Asian cuisine at the stylish Takeshi to steaks at Los Abrazos. Maria Dolores, a seasonal cuisine concept helmed by celebrity chef Edgar Nuñez, is the only restaurant not included in the rate, but it’s worth the splurge. The resort’s beverages are just as excellent, with 12 bars slinging well-made craft cocktails. When you’re not enjoying great meals, this is one of the more luxurious resorts in Cancun, with spacious and contemporary suites. Alvarez includes it among her top recommendations, noting its sophisticated design and emphasis on golf. “For couples, I highly recommend booking the Inspira Suites, particularly those with a private plunge pool on the terrace,” she says. “They offer added privacy and really elevate the experience.”
Best Beachfront Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun: Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun
Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun
Who Will Love It: Travelers who want to spend most of their time on the sand
All-Star Amenities: Spa Aqua; Molton Brown toiletries; aromatherapy menu; Starbucks coffee served at Cafe Deli Boutique; nine restaurants; three bars
What Not To Miss: Chef’s Dinner at Latin fusion Mb restaurant
Location: Hotel Zone
Distance To Airport: 12 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: Inlaa’Kech only
Perched on a wide stretch of beach in the heart of the Hotel Zone, Live Aqua Beach Resort is one of my top recommendations for its 371 prime beachfront rooms and suites, each with sea views that can be enjoyed from private balconies. Guests here can never take their eyes off the sea, whether they’re sipping cocktails in the property’s stunning beachfront infinity pool or hanging in one of the many shoreline hammocks. For those who want to spend their day on the sand, club level suites come with included daily cabana rentals (those not staying in a club level suite can secure a cabana for $85 per day); Bali beds are also available to rent. After beach activities, nine restaurants and five bars await, including the seafood-focused Sea Corner and the Latin fusion Mb restaurant, which features an impressive four-course Chef’s Dinner experience that shouldn’t be missed.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For The Pool Scene: Royalton Chic Cancun
Royalton Chic Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
Who Will Love It: Couples or friend groups seeking pools with exceptional views and a vibrant party scene
All-Star Amenities: Nine restaurants; six bars; four pools, including two infinity pools; The Royal Spa
What Not To Miss: The day club at the rooftop Level 18 Cabana Lounge
Location: Hotel Zone
Distance From Airport: 14 Miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: No
For those who want a healthy dose of pool-party fun on their next trip to Cancun, I recommend the Royalton Chic Cancun. The crown jewels of this resort are its two expansive infinity pools that overlook the Caribbean Sea; these plus two more on-site are bustling with lively revelers at all hours. The rooftop Level 18 Cabana Lounge, which sits 18 stories above the Cancun strip, is a particular standout, featuring exceptional views from its sky-high pool and an energetic day club that keeps the party going. After a day of hanging (or dancing) by the pool, guests who crave some relaxation can reserve a treatment at The Royal Spa, which offers a range of massages, facials and hydrotherapy.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For Active Travelers: TRS Coral Hotel
TRS Coral Hotel
Who Will Love It: Tennis fans; active travelers
All-Star Amenities: Personalized butler service; access to amenities at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Select; Rafa Nadal Tennis Center
What Not To Miss: An evening at the Chic Cabaret & Restaurant
Location: Playa Mujeres
Distance From Airport: 20 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: Yes
TRS Coral Hotel has the benefit of being a hotel within a hotel; thanks to its sister resort, the larger right next door, you can benefit from an intimate stay while having access to all of the activities of a much larger resort. Ideal for guests who like to stay active, there’s plenty of movement to be found here, including a wide range of complimentary fitness classes that range from yoga to pilates to weight training. Tennis fans in particular will enjoy the unique Rafa Nadal Tennis Center, which features eight tennis courts, as well as coaching using Nadal’s very own techniques. After an active day, the steam rooms, dry sauna and sensation showers at Zentropia Spa & Wellness Center are a great way to wind down.
Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun For Spa And Wellness: Le Blanc Spa Resort
Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun
Who Will Love It: Those who want an all-inclusive experience without sacrificing luxury
All-Star Amenities: Robert Mondavi wines and top-shelf liquors (some at an extra cost); Bulgari toiletries; butlers for each room; pillow menu
What Not To Miss: The tasting menu at Lumière
Location: Hotel Zone
Distance From Airport: 15 miles
Restaurant Reservations Required: Lumière only
Guests who check in at Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun get the best of both worlds: a classic all-inclusive experience (complete with top-quality food and drinks) within a luxury hotel setting. Sleek rooms fashioned in palettes of creams and marble, attentive personal butlers and high-end Bulgari toiletries provide an upscale atmosphere that feels miles away from the surrounding Hotel Zone. This quieter, more mature scene means guests can enjoy the serene vibe without interruption, and six dining outlets—including the intimate French concept Lumière—are some of the best in Cancun. Wellness lovers will also want to take advantage of complimentary daily access to the spa’s hydrotherapy circuit, which is unique to find at an all-inclusive resort.

Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resorts In Cancun To Watch
With plenty of gorgeous beaches and a tropical climate, Cancun is an excellent choice for an all-inclusive vacation—with a growing resort scene. Here are three noteworthy adults-only properties that are launching or reopening in 2026:
- : Ocean Signature Resorts opened its adults-only Allure Costa Mujeres resort in December 2025 on the northern stretch of Cancun’s coastline. Amenities include five outdoor pools, two poolside bars, a bowling alley and eight on-site restaurants.

How To Pick An Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort In Cancun
Many adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun offer similar base amenities including unlimited food and drink, pool and beach access, on-site entertainment and room service. But beyond that, each property provides a unique experience. Here’s what to consider as you’re perusing your options.
Location
The majority of resorts are located in the Hotel Zone, which stretches nearly 14 miles along the Caribbean coastline. While the Hotel Zone offers unmatched convenience, it’s also the most popular spot for tourists. If you’re looking for a calmer atmosphere, Playa Mujeres is a short drive in the northern part of Cancun, providing a more laid-back experience. “I typically recommend Playa Mujeres over staying directly in Cancún’s Hotel Zone, as the most luxurious and exclusive properties are located just outside the city limits,” says Alvarez. Our top overall pick, , is located in this area.
Party Size
The number of people you’re traveling with should also factor into your decision. If you’re going on a romantic getaway with a significant other, a more intimate resort, like or , will likely fit the bill. If you’re traveling with a group, a larger resort like or , is a better bet.
Activities
Some travelers prioritize relaxation while on vacation, choosing to spend a majority of their time lounging at the beach or pool. Others look forward to water sports, fitness classes and specialty workshops. Spend some time researching the activity options each resort offers to find a spot that caters to your party’s interests and itinerary. Some resorts, like , are more suited to active types who prefer to stay moving.
Budget
When you book an all-inclusive trip, you’re able to see exactly how much you’ll be spending up front. Beyond that flat rate, some resorts offer add-on experiences—everything from spa treatments to off-site excursions—for an additional cost. Make sure to review everything that’s included in the all-inclusive rate so you can budget for add-ons if you wish.
